Dear JFRD,

I want to say thank you for cooperating with DriveCam installation.  I also wanted to provide you all with some updates regarding the program.

1)      As Risk Manager, I am extremely proud of the videos I have seen from JFRD.  I have noticed very attentive and careful driving; high seatbelt compliance;  and a newfound respect for the defensive driving you must use while in emergency mode to avoid accidents.

a.       See attached videos.

2)      Although some vehicles had camera’s since May, the final cameras should be completely installed before July 1.

3)      For driver behavior, the Coaching/Correction phase of this project will not begin until August 1st as we wanted to ensure that every driver had several weeks of experience driving with the camera installed.

4)      Lastly, the cameras will trigger an event if they are tampered with.  Therefore, please do not place items (tape, bags, clothing, etc.) over the lens or otherwise tamper with the camera.  This is safety equipment and tampering issues will not be  dealt with in August, they will be addressed  immediately.

Again, I want to say thank you for all your hard work.  I have enjoyed getting a chance to meet a number of you at your Fire Stations.  I appreciate the hard work that you do.

Respectfully,

Twane Duckworth

Chief of Risk Management
