Bill Bowling was a lifelong supporter of JFRD personnel. He not only sold affordable insurance, but he helped those in need.

BOWLING William A. Bowling, Jr. (Bill) age 88, passed away on November 7, 2015 at Memorial Hospital. Bill was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He enlisted in the Army upon graduating high school and upon his honorable discharge, he started his college years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business from Johns Hopkins University in 1952. He became an agent with Massachusetts Mutual and the family moved to Jacksonville in 1962. He continued in the insurance field as an agent for Gulf Life and then American General Life and American Heritage Life. He received many Man of the Year awards and he and Jackie were awarded with several fabulous trips throughout his career. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Jackie) of 63 years and his three children - Bobby, Susie, and Jim, his grandchildren - Matthew, Kyle, and Travis Bowling, Katie, Adam, and Andrew Wheeler, his two great-grandsons, Ryan and Owen Bowling and several nieces and nephews. Bill was a wonderful husband and father, a dedicated family man and someone who was warm and caring to everyone he met. Bill was especially proud of and derived much joy from his relationships with the wonderful group of firemen and their families with whom he interacted with over the past 40 years. The family expresses a special thanks to the caregivers at Brookdale-Atrium while he was there. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the Humane Society on Beach Blvd. Graveside Services will be held at 11am, Thursday November 19, 2015 in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N.
