COLEMAN Donald Floyd Coleman, 63, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was born May 8, 1951 in Maxville, FL to the late Francis and Myrtle Coleman, as the baby of seven children. A lifelong resident of Maxville, FL Donnie served with distinction as Chairman of Deacons for 35 years at First Baptist Church of Maxville and was an active member for over 50 years. He was always faithful to serve others with no thought of himself. Donnie was a founding volunteer member of Maxville Fire Department and remained a volunteer until his death. He was a member of what some might call the old men s society at Hatcher s Auto Parts. Donnie worked at Coleman Pulpwood after graduating high school until mid-1974. In 1974 he accepted a position with Gilman Paper Company as supervisor of the Chipping Operations until health problems caused his early retirement. Donnie will be remembered as a kind, gentle, God fearing man and for his love of his family, church family, dirt track racing and junking with Tank. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, BF and James; sisters, Minnie and Evelyn; in-laws, Sollie and Dorothy, and brother in law, Buddy. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ellen Coleman; daughter, Stacey Horne (Ricky); grandson, Kody; granddaughters, Kaylee, Amber, and Alle; sisters, Shirley Eichelser (Don), Mary Browning; numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 11am at First Baptist Church of Maxville, 8635 Maxville Blvd, 32234 with Brother Richard Fish, officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch cemetery.
