JFRD Retired Fire Engineer Raymond D. Eddins passed away Saturday March 17, 2018. Raymond was hired June 09, 1967 and spent many years driving Engine 31 on the A shift. Raymond's off duty job was owner of a new home construction framing business and he ran that for many years. He was lovingly referred to as "Framin' Raymond"

Raymond D. Eddins Sr., 76, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born August 11, 1941 to Lester and Ada Eddins Sr. in Jacksonville, FL. He was an avid fan of the University of Florida Gator football team and watched every game. Raymond enjoyed bowling and going out fishing for relaxation. After 30 years of service, he retired from the Jacksonville Firefighters department. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Helen Highsmith, Nancy Rogers, Violet Mattox and Mary Frances Mattox. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Judy, children Deborah Eddins, Donna Lynne Eddins, Kimberly Brown, Raymond Douglas (Elizabeth) Eddins Jr., grandchildren Matthew Ryan Brown, Ashley E. (Joshua) Bryant, Raymond Derek (Jarah) Brown, Joshua Andrew (Amanda) Brown, Jonah Rutherford, Taylor Rae Eddins, Raymond Douglas Eddins III, Shane Tyler Eddins, great-grandchildren Logan, Raylan, Hailey, Jaxson, Maxwell, four sisters, Clara, Alice, Carolyn, Janice, three brothers Ralph, Richard, Clark as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held in his honor at the funeral home on Thursday, March 22, 2018 beginning at 2:00pm.
