Nathaniel Lee Ellis, 67, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He was born July 13, 1943 in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Albert & Angeline Ellis. Lee had lived in Jacksonville for the past 46 years and was Baptist by faith. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of Vietnam. Lee was a 32 degree Mason, Shriner and a member of Ezra Lodge # 67. He was a fireman with the city of Jacksonville and retired from the fire department after 37 years of service. Lee loved golf, fishing, hunting and being in the woods. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Norma; son, Darren Ellis and his wife Traci of Jacksonville; daughter, Daphne Harris and her husband Micheal of Lakeland; stepdaughter, Sherry Prather of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Michele, Micheal, Nicholas, Dustin, Noelle, Cameron, Kaitlyn; step granddaughters, Britney and Mandy. Memorial services were held on Saturday, April 16 at 2pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, with Pastor Lyle E. Shiferdek, Jr. officiating. 714-1110.
