Engineer Walter Hurlbert (97). He retired from Ladder 44C after spending 35 years with the JFRD. He came on the job on Engine 7 which was on Old Kings Road at the time and later to Engine 13. He became a Chief's Driver and drove Chief Kelly and then Chief Jackson. When Chief Jackson retired, he went back to E13 then over to L44 for the remainder of his career. Walter visited his old station, #44 IN 2014 and was warmly received by the crew. See the pictures below. Walter was a special guest at the Annual Retired Firefighter's Luncheon on Tuesday October 27, 2015!

Walter once drove the JFD Fire Chief W.A. Jackson (Car 71).
Here stands Walter at old fire station #9 next to the Chief's Car.
