JFRD Retired EngineerLevi Edward Starling JR. passed away on Jan. 20, 2015. Born in Jacksonville, FL to Levi E. Starling SR. and Beulah Ellison on Aug. 21 1925.

He served in the navy during WWII and taking part in D-Day. Levi joined the Jacksonville Fire Department on February 15, 1948, retiring from Fire Communications on February 27, 1971 after 23 years of loyal service to the Department and citizens of the City of Jacksonville. He also worked in the trucking industry.

He was preceded in death by his wife Freda and Sister Dorothy. He is survived by his brother Warren (Kitty) Starling. Father to Linda (Richard) Berke and Mike (Molly) Starling. Grandfather to Michael, Kelly, and Clay Starling, John and Sarah Berke. Great Grandfather of Kinsley, Trey, Tate, and Nathaniel Starling.

He was a member of the Albert J. Russel Lodge, Jacksonville Scottish Rite. The Parade Marshall Emeritus for the Morocco Temple. He was a member of Holiday Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral Service was 11AM Saturday, Jan. 24 at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Boulevard officiated by Dr. Albert Byrd. The family received friends from 6-8 PM Friday, Jan. 23 at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home. The family prefers memorial contributions may be made to Morocco Shrine Temple Children's Hospital.
