The officers and members of the Jacksonville Retired Firefighter Association are saddened to report that

Retired JFRD Engineer Raymond Terry “R.T.” Starratt passed away Thursday June 04, 2020.

Raymond Terry “R.T.” Starratt, 76, of Yulee, FL., a retired firefighter, and paramedic, answered his last call on June 4th, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville, Fla. following a long illness.

Mr. Starratt was born on February 15, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Dorothy E. and Amasa Dorman “A.D.” Starratt.

R.T. was a dedicated Engineer and Paramedic for 29 years. He served on Rescue 13 as part of the High Angle Rescue Team. He was a member of the Retired Firefighters Association.

He was a member of Highlands Baptist Church, Jacksonville, where he served as a deacon. R.T. also served as a missionary and traveled to Arco, Chili to spread God’s love. He loved his Lord and serving Him.

An avid outdoorsman, R.T. loved going to the beach, hunting, fishing, and camping as a family. He considered himself a simple man who enjoyed life and adored his family. He had a love for all history and enjoyed Civil War re-enactments.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Deanne Snider Starratt of Yulee, FL.; three daughters: Sherrie Lynn Gesell of Yulee, FL., Christie Starratt (C. Solomons) McKenzie of Bluffton, S.C. and Vivian Veresa Smith of Fernandina, FL.; 6 grandchildren: Miles Lanier of Jacksonville, FL., Grace Lanier and Harrison McKenzie of Bluffton, S.C., Nicholas and Crystal Clower of Jacksonville, FL., and Taylor (Shannon) Ragsdale of Jacksonville, N.C.; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 8th at 3:00 PM at the chapel of
Green Pine Funeral Home, 96281 Green Pine Road, Yulee, Fla., 32097.
Interment will follow at Green Pine Cemetery.
