TREADWELL Linda Sue Aspinwall Treadwell, a resident of Macclenny, FL, born September 20, 1951 in Jacksonville, FL, passed away September 4, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. The Celebration of Linda's Life Linda began her adventure in the emergency medical service in the early 1980s. She attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville where she earned her certification as a Paramedic. She applied and was accepted as one of the early flight crew members of Trauma One Flight Services. She was in attendance at the celebration of Trauma One Flight Services' First Anniversary June 13, 1986. As she continued her adventure in public service she applied for a position with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department and was accepted March 14, 1988. She completed Firefighter training and was assigned at Fire Station 4, at Duval Street and Jefferson Street. Soon after her assignment to Fire Station 4, being a certified Paramedic, she was assigned to Rescue. Well, even though, Rescue was a demanding assignment, she fell in love with helping people in need. She stayed with her rescue assignment for approximately twenty years. She was injured while working. The injury caused her to be reassigned. She was assigned as the curator of the Fire Museum, housed in the century old Fire Station 3. The Fire Museum was a different world to her. She was able to teach thousands of school children and other visitors the history of the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department. Linda had two assistants, Lieutenant George and Fire Fighter Liddy Lou, which are puppets. They assisted Linda when she taught classes of school children fire safety. Once again she fell in love with her assignment. During her tenure at the Fire Museum she was inspired to recognize the value of the wives and families of the department's firemen. She had a vision of an event to honor those persons. In 2006 her vision was made a reality for the first time. The Jacksonville Firefighter Widows' Luncheon was born. She retired September 24, 2010, with a total of twenty five years of service to the citizens of Jacksonville, Duval, Florida. Linda truly loved helping people.
