Lonnie Wiggins retired Engineer from station 19 passed away Thursday December 08, 2011.

Lonnie was very active in local 122 and was assigned at station 19 most of his career.

Lonnie James Wiggins, 61, entered into eternal rest December 8, 2011. He was a native of Lily, GA, having resided in Jacksonville most of his life. He was a graduate of Douglas Anderson-Class of 1968. Mr. Wiggins was employed with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Station # 19 until he retired after 28 years of dedicated service. He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Mrs. Edna Wiggins; daughters, Ms. Donna Jackson and Mrs. Melissa Wiley (Deran); mother, Mrs. Lorena Wiggins; granddaughters, Aniah Jackson and Morgan Wiley; sisters, Mses. Essie Davis and Rudine Marshall; brothers, Walter, David (Jackie) and Melvin (Cheryle) Wiggins; a number of other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE was be held 11 AM, Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Philippian Community Church, Bishop Virgil Jones, Sr., Pastor, with Bishop Fred Brown, Pastor of House of Refuge, officiating. Mr. Wiggins rested in the mortuary for visitation Wednesday from 5 PM until 8 PM (where the family received friends at 5 PM) and Thursday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of service.
