The officers and members of the Jacksonville Retired Firefighter Association are saddened to report that

Retired JFRD Captain  Raymond E. "Eddie" Smith Jr. passed away Saturday February 13, 2021.

Captain Smith was highly regarded as a very proficient firefighter and a kind man. Captain Smith was the son of a firefighter, the late Captain Raymond E. Smith, Sr., known as 'Buddy Boy.' Eddie's brother Richard E. "Gene" Smith is also a retired JFRD Captain. And Eddie's nephew Ryan Smith is currently serving on the JFRD as a Rescue Lieutenant.

A viewing will be held 6:00PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday February 23rd at

The funeral service will be held 9:30 AM on Wednesday February 24th at
